RD Management and Kelco/FB Winecoff Announce Mixed-Use Development at Peachtree Center Station in Atlanta, Georgia

RD Management LLC, one of the nation’s largest privately held real-estate development and management organizations and its subsidiary Kelco/FB Winecoff LLC announced today their plans to develop a mixed-use project at MARTA’s Peachtree Center Station, located at 216 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, Georgia.

MARTA selected RD Management and Kelco/FB Winecoff LLC as the preferred developers for the project. They plan to build three stories of commercial space, designed by New York-based S9 Architecture, on the southwest corner of the site, totaling 16,000 square feet. Discussions are underway to potentially add an additional 56,000 square feet of residential space above the retail.

“The development at Peachtree Center Station provided an ideal opportunity to further expand our portfolio from retail to include larger mixed-use assets,” said Richard Birdoff, principal and president of RD Management and manager of Kelco/FB Winecoff. “We’re always looking for innovative ways to leverage our expertise in retail development, and this opportunity allows us to add value and density to a small, underserved transit hub and incorporate the typical bustle and vibrancy of downtown Atlanta into this commercial corner.”

The site is directly connected to the Peachtree Center MARTA station, one stop north of the Five Points Transit Hub and one stop south of the Civic Center Station. To further connect the Peachtree Center MARTA stop with the site, RD Management plans to create a series of enclosed commercial bays that can operate as commercial retail micro-units and provide enclosed access to the transit stop, giving a better overall commuter experience.

Peachtree Center Station sits across the street from the Georgia Pacific headquarters and Georgia State University. It is proximate to major downtown employers including the CNN Center and Mercedes Benz Stadium. The surrounding Peachtree Center offers an array of dining and hotel options as well as offices and tourist destinations. In addition to the RD Management-owned The Ellis Hotel, nearby attractions include The World of Coca-Cola, The Georgia Aquarium, Woodruff Park, Centennial Olympic Park, Tabernacle Atlanta, and Skyview Atlanta.
