RD Management Commences Construction at University Mall for Two New Leases

RD Management LLC, one of the nation’s largest privately held real estate development and management organizations, has commenced construction for two new tenants coming to University Mall in Tampa, Florida. Miller’s Ale House, a casual restaurant and bar, has leased 9,848 square feet and Portillo’s, a Chicago-style restaurant chain, has leased 9,020 square feet. Both tenants anticipate grand openings in fall 2016.

University Mall is an approximately 1.3 million-square-foot mall located at 2220 East Fowler Avenue and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in Tampa. Portillo’s and Miller’s Ale House will join such existing tenants as Studio Movie Grill, a 14-screen theater with full-service dining and lounge seating, and anchors Sears, Dillard’s, Macy’s, and Burlington Coat Factory.

“University Mall is uniquely positioned in the Tampa trade area, adjacent to University of South Florida’s main campus and surrounded by four area hospitals, Busch Gardens, office parks, and more than 265,000 residents within a five-mile radius,” said Roger Hirschhorn, senior vice president of RD Management. “The addition of Portillo’s and Miller’s Ale House, two popular restaurants, are the next step in the redevelopment of this property to become a mixed-use hub for the region.”

University Mall is one of seven properties owned by RD Management across Florida, and one of more than 200 properties in its national portfolio. Other Florida properties RD Management has acquired, developed, and/or redeveloped include: Fern Park Plaza in Fern Park; Groves Shopping Center in Lakeland; Merchants Crossing in North Fort Myers; Seminole Centre in Sanford; and Shady Oaks Shopping Center in Ocala.
