RD Management Signs Lease with Planet Fitness at Merchants Crossing in North Fort Myers, FL

RD Management LLC, one of the nation’s largest privately held real-estate development and management organizations, announced today that it has signed a 20,485-square-foot lease with Planet Fitness at its Merchants Crossing shopping center in North Fort Myers, Florida. Planet Fitness is expected to open in February 2018.

Merchants Crossing is located at 15201 north Cleveland Avenue and Pine Island Road, also referred to as U.S. Highway 41 and State Route 78. The 325,705-square-foot shopping center sits at a prime intersection in the Cape Coral trade area and currently has 55,779 square feet available for lease. Anchor tenants at Merchants Crossing include Home Depot, Beall’s Department Store, Beall’s Outlet, AMC Theaters, JoAnn Fabrics, Dollar General, and the recent addition of T-Mobile. The shopping center will be undergoing a complete renovation as new tenant leases are signed.

“Planet Fitness’ addition to Merchants Crossing nicely complements the existing tenants and will benefit the community as the nearest existing location of this hugely successful gym chain is five miles away,” said Richard Birdoff, principal and president of RD Management. “According to American City Business Journals, the population in Fort Myers is projected to increase by 82.5 percent by 2040, creating more potential customers for Merchants Crossing.”
