RD Management to Bring Regional Health and Wellness Center to Latham, New York
March 7, 2016
RD Management LLC, one of the nation’s largest privately held real estate development and management organizations, announced today it is starting an adaptive reuse project that will redevelop its existing Latham, New York property into a new health and wellness plaza. The site, a former Kmart shopping center, spans 118,863 square feet and is located on New York State Route 2, a major thoroughfare in the center of the Capital Region market.
Home to Albany Medical School and Albany Pharmacy School, the Greater Capital Region has seen numerous medical community-related developments in the last seven years. Latham’s new health and wellness center will afford the opportunity for businesses to provide the public with alternative and holistic healthcare offerings, all close to existing medical campuses. These offerings will be in addition to the existing 22,058-square- foot health and fitness training facility.
“Strategically feeding off the region’s demonstrated focus on health and fitness, this concept aims to bring medical service providers to users with a new level of accessibility,” said Richard Birdoff, principal and president of RD Management. “The recent trend toward value-based primary care further supports the appeal for a facility centrally-located and with the magnitude of services the Latham health and wellness center will deliver.”
The new health and wellness center will be located at 195 Troy Schenectady Road (Route 2/7) and Swatling Road in Latham. Positioned midway between Albany, Schenectady, and Troy, the heavily traversed area is well supported by far-reaching public transportation.
RD Management owns 42 properties throughout New York and has more than 200 properties in its national portfolio.
